Part 27: Battle Tower Extravaganza
Update 21.5: Battle Tower ExtravaganzaRoute 40
Battlebattlebattlebattle TOWER
: As a token of our friendship, I have a gift for you!
Oh hey, something I can use.
: It's an item that raises the power of flying-type moves. You should equip a bird POKéMON with that item.
: My brothers and sisters are all over the place. See if you can find them all.
We've found five of the seven siblings. Where could the last two be...?

Outside Battle Tower
Toooooooooooooooweeeeeeeeeeeeer
Aw man, I've been looking forward to this. You can use the Battle Tower right away, no problem. If you wanna do some competitive battling against AI trainers, then this is your jam. It's brutally difficult like most battle facilities, but I think our team is tough enough to take 'em on!
Inside Battle Tower
: I could show you to a BATTLE ROOM. Want to go into a BATTLE ROOM?
Hell yeah.
: Only three POKéMON may be entered. Please return when you're ready.
Ah, I should probably go over the rules before we begin. Firstly, you can only have three Pokemon in your party, something they'll fix next generation by just letting you pick your Pokemon. And then you'll go through seven gruelling three on three battles against random trainers. ANY of the 251 Pokemon in the game can be entered, including legendaries, but only for level 70 and above. You can choose what level to participate in, from 10-100 in ten level increments, though we can't choose 50 or above until we beat the game.
Like other future facilities and official Pokemon battles, two Pokemon cannot hold the same item and items can not be used by the trainer in battle. Simple stuff. From what I see, there doesn't seem to be a Species Clause. In addition, your Pokemon must be the same or less than the level chosen, they're not automatically brought down. After beating seven trainers, you get a reward, but you don't get anything for consecutive wins. Later facilities start off easy and get progressively harder, but this Tower is hard the whole way though. Good luck, you'll need it.
You should also be happy that we can use this Tower at all, cause Japanese players sure can't. In order to open the Tower, you need to use the Mobile Adapter and since the service no longer exists, you can't use it anymore. But while the service was around, you could do online multiplayer battles, with a small price is charged to your account for each one. If you battle well enough, you can become a Room Leader and will be registered on the Honor Roll of the Mobile Center for posterity. Until it shut down. Which it did.
Level 10 is a very interesting challenge that we'll go into in a little while.
Right now, our best shot is the level 30 challenge. Shouldn't be too tough, what could possibly be this good at this low a level?
Our Battle Room has been chosen. Our opponent... is you!
Alright, there's 21 different Pokemon that we could face in each level challenge. They can repeat across trainers and it means there's 210 unique Pokemon sets in the Tower, with different stats and moves and that. Let's see what we get.
A Fun Battle
HP: 60 | ATK: 75 | DEF: 85 | SP.ATK: 100 | SP.DEF: 85 | SPD: 115 | TOTAL: 520
#168: Starmie
Ohhhhhh I feel like I've made a terrible mistake.
Uh... Psychic (Saikokineshisu: Psychockinesis) is a, well, Psychic move with 90BP, 10PP and 100% accuracy and a 10% chance to lower Special Defense by one stage. A much better change from the 33.2% chance of lowering Special last gen.
"LEFTOVERS."
Haha, you thought you could participate in the Battle Tower when you first reach it. But no, the Pokemon here are very competitive, have good movesets, items and stats and will absolutely destroy you no problem.
N-no p-problem...
I think in order to beat this facility, we're gonna need some better Pokemon...
